What is the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF)?

The Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) provides grants to support health and medical research and innovation.

The objective is to fund research and innovation projects that improve the health and wellbeing of Australians, make the health system sustainable, and build the economy.

The MRFF aims to:

• benefit Australians with life-changing medical discoveries
• fund research according to national priorities
• develop researcher ideas in Australia
• develop Australia’s growing biotech industry, creating jobs and experts
• build stronger relationships between researchers, healthcare professionals, governments and the community
• invest in all stages of research – from ideas to laboratory research and trials to the final commercial product.
